Work at height and category III PPE - D.Lgs. 81/08

Mandatory course for those working where there is a difference in level of 2 metres or more, with a consequent risk of falling, under Articles 77, 107 and 115 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 81/2008. It provides the theoretical and practical tools to carry out work at height safely, with particular attention to category III fall protection PPE.

Exam and certification:
At the end there is a theory assessment by multiple-choice test (minimum pass mark 70%) and a practical assessment at the end of the practical module. The training certificate is issued only to those who pass both assessments and attend at least 90% of the scheduled hours.

Certificate:
A certificate of attendance is issued.

Theory module

• Introduction to Legislative Decree no. 81/2008
• Concept of risk and the employer's obligations
• The risk of falling from height: swing effect and clearance distance
• Fall protection PPE: selection, use, maintenance and expiry
• Anchor points and anchorage systems
• Rescue and first aid
  

Practical module:

• Familiarisation with the different types of device
• Putting on fall protection PPE correctly
• Moving safely at height
• Rescue and first aid simulation

• To know the regulatory framework for work at height and the employer's obligations.
• To understand the risk of falling from height, the swing effect and clearance distance.
• To select, use, maintain and periodically inspect category III fall protection PPE.
• To know anchorage systems and anchor points and the related procedures.
• To manage an emergency at height: rescue and first aid.
• To put on fall protection PPE correctly and move safely at height.
