On 9 July, at Villa Braida in Mogliano Veneto, the first edition of San Giorgio's Disability Manager course ended with the certification exam. Three professionals became the first Disability Managers in Italy certified under the ISO/IEC 17024 standard.
Not just a certificate of attendance, but a third-party certification issued by a body accredited by Accredia, attesting individual skills verified against a recognised international standard. A substantial difference for those who have to choose whom to entrust with this role: not a piece of paper, but a guarantee.
The topic is more relevant today than ever. Since 2024, Article 39-ter of Italian Legislative Decree 165/2001 has required all public administrations to appoint a professional trained as a Disability Manager, and the private sector is moving in the same direction. This is part of the comprehensive disability reform (Legislative Decree 62/2024), which is expected to be fully operational from January 2027.
The second edition of the course will start on 6 October 2026.
